Sorpresa del trigo,  1936

1937-1961: This is the only painting that she takes with her to Argentina. Because of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 , Maruja Mallo exiles  to Argentina.  In Buenos Aires she continues painting.

1922: When Maruja Mallo is 20 , she and her family set up in Madrid.                                            

Maruja was a modern women. She liked to make up. She didn´t like black color.

A woman without her hat: She didn´t like wearing a hat because she was a free woman .

She found this custom silly and obsolete.

 Who is Maruja Mallo?

1902 . She is born in Viveiro (Lugo) on January 5 th

1905- 1913 She lives in Corcubión from 3 years until she is 11. She begins to draw.

1913- 1922: She moves to Avilés (Asturias) . She attends the Art and Crafts School and takes private painting clases.
